'Choose your subject carefully' is a campaign by Silverneon Advertising for the Ministry of Education in Oman. The advertisements feature influential public figures like Bill Gates and Pele, as well as historical figures like Michelangelo and Christopher Columbus, and refers to the course of actions these people took in order to achieve their goals. The campaign urges students to choose their subjects carefully, with the tagline "It's your decision. It's your future".  

mediaME Forum:2011 kicks off in Amman

The first day of the Levant digital media event, the mediaME Forum:2011 that is being held in Amman, has successfully ended following very exciting and engaging panels and sessions presented by key industry figures from across the region. The first day, which has gathered over 300 delegates, opened with welcoming words from Zeid Nasser, the founder of mediaME.com and CEO of MediaScope, followed by a Keynote speech from Joud Nawar, the media research manager at Ipsos.

The day was packed with great topics on digital branding and creativity in Arabia, power of local content in online communities, online video advertising, mobile branding, affiliate networks, social media measurement and marketing strategies, and opportunities for Arab brands in gaming. 

The two-day forum will conclude on Monday with two simultaneous workshops, offered to all mediaME Forum attendees, and aimed to provide important insights on best practices and techniques.

High-tech teaching methods in Dubai

Schools around the world have been implementing new digital methods of teaching, and a Dubai based school has been no exception. At GEMS Royal Dubai School, a regular classroom features an electronic whiteboard, and various other digital devices used to implement a new digital method of teaching, including iPads, iPods and iPhones.

“It is our duty to introduce the children to the world of technology, because that is the world they will eventually be living in,” says Philip Redhead, Headmaster of the UK-curriculum based primary school. This method of teaching is supported by the Ministry of Education, which stated that the ministry “takes great interest in e-learning, which is in line with the directive of the UAE, and with what the UAE has accomplished in the field of information and communication technology”.

This non-traditional method of teaching has faced some criticism, but has been well received by the student body.

Amazon may launch digital media library for book publishers

Under recent talks, Amazon Inc is considering to launch a digital media library service for book publishers much like the media library for Netflix Inc. The Wall Street Journal also reports that Amazon is also expected to release a tablet to rival Apple Inc's iPad in coming weeks.

Under the proposal for a digital media library, customers would pay an annual fee to access a library of content, the Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
