Advertisers are calling for independent audits of regional publications in order to boost confidence in the publishing industry. Audits are used by prospective advertisers to determine a publication's circulation, and its worth to an advertising campaign. "The demand for using audited titles from advertisers is increasing," said Zubair Siddiqui, who is a member of the regional advisory board of BPA Worldwide, an auditor of media titles.

BPA Worldwide has recently announced its latest circulation and media data in the region for the period January 2011 to June 30th, 2011. Newspapers and magazines opting to be BPA-audited reveal their “circulation claims”. Among Yahoo! Middle East/Maktoob, Autotradeuae.com, 7days.ae, Gulfnews.com and gnads4u.com, BPA Interactive powered by Nielsen reported Yahoo! Middle East/Maktoob had the most unique average browsers per month with 48,902,005 unique visitors, Gulfnews.com and gnads4u.com with 2,516,236, followed by 7days.ae and Autotradeuae.com with117,292 and 72,470 unique visitors respectively.

BPA Worldwide has issued its first publication of BuySafeMedia that unveils latest audit figures and developments in the Middle East. The Middle East Advisory Board of media owners, advertisers and agencies has agreed that a bi-annual publication of these figures will be available to all subscribers of the newsletter.

An audit by BPA Worldwide, the industry standard for assessing circulation, has just confirmed that an average of 81,659 copies of Abu Dhabi Week are published every week – more than any other magazine distributed in the capital.
