'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' is set to premiere in Dubai at the city's international film festival. MI4 will be the first film screened at the event. The film's cast includes Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner and Paula Patton. The movie is sure to be a hit in the Emirates, as one of the movie's action sequences was filmed at Dubai's Burj Khalifa tower.

Close to half a million people witnessed the New Year's Eve Gala from Burj Park, an island set on The Burj Lake opposite Burj Khalifa, and from other vantage points across Downtown Dubai. It was telecast live to over 2 billion people. The celebration also marked the first anniversary of the grand inauguration of Burj Khalifa, and enveloped Downtown Dubai. The community was a sea of humanity, as people arrived to witness the spectacle several hours in advance. The four-act show was synchronized through satellite signals to and from a control station.

Maktoob Business reports that Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum on Monday evening inaugurated the world’s tallest building, unveiling the name Burj Khalifa in honour of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan. The brand development will take two to three years and will cost tens of millions of dollars according to the source.
The name-change signifies a move towards unity and integration of the UAE.
Branding firms working with Emaar Properties, developer of the Burj Khalifa, said it was too early to comment on the implications of the name-change.
