Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) has announced the launch of a new media service that allows passengers on board all FlyDubai flights to browse both Al Bayan and Emirates 24|7 newspapers on the screen of their seats. "The new service will allow the passengers to follow the latest news in both Arabic and English" said a DMI representative.
"DMI is proud of being proactive to keep abreast of all new trends in the media industry and always provide its audience with information services at home and abroad," said Ahmad Abdullah Al Shaikh, Managing Director and Director General of Dubai Media Incorporated.

The Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO) organized a Ramadan event, attended by UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended, heads of government departments and local and foreign media professionals.
Held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Sheikh Mohammed underlined the importance of high standing local media and the competence of young Emirati leaders operating in this field, saying that it reflects the economic and cultural progress in the UAE.

The Dubai Press Club has honoured the organisers and sponsors of the Arab Media Forum 2011 in an event at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Dubai. The special gathering honoured representatives of the event sponsors including Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), Emirates airline, Arab Media Group (AMG), Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), JiWin Public Relations, Elaph electronic newspaper and 50 local media students from various universities across the country who contributed as volunteers.
Held from May 17-18, the 10th edition of the Arab Media Forum attracted more than 2,800 participants, in addition to 23 others who attended the meetings through live transmission.

According to emirates24/7, the government of Dubai have launched new efforts to lure the young generation into broadcast media, which is one of the fastest-growing industries in the region.As part of that initiative, the Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) organised lectures for a group of students from the UAE University over a two-day visit. The students' tour came as part of the DMI's efforts to position the broadcast media as a suitable career choice.
The idea is to create a significant talent pool of fresh graduates as part of its strategy and commitment to create a new Emirati media generation able to project the image of Dubai and the UAE. The aspiring media students, while touring the DMI studios, gained first-hand experience on the production process of programmes.
The creative skills needed for presenters and other components of the industry were also highlighted to the students through a series of presentations.Each presentation was followed by an interactive session that saw DMI officials responding to queries on diverse areas such as the process of measuring viewers ratings, the hiring criteria and programme scheduling.

According to emirates24/7, Dubai Media Incorporated, one of the largest media groups in the Middle East, has announced the launch of two new media platforms to add to the organization's portfolio. ARA Dubai magazine and Dubai FM radio, are set for launch in the coming months.
The two new products will be launched in early September and will reflect the diversity of the DMI portfolio which extends to TV, Radio, Online and Print Media. ARA Dubai magazine and Dubai FM radio will constitute a new information window for Arab readers and listeners on issues relating to the various areas of daily life with modern, sophisticated and interesting entertainment content.
Expressing his thanks to Ahmad Abdullah Al Shaikh, Managing Director and General Manager of DMI Dhaen Shaheen, Executive Director of Press at Dubai Media Incorporated, said: "The introduction of the weekly magazine and the new radio station would be a qualitative addition to the national, regional and Arab media."

Emirates News Agency (WAM) reports that the UAE Television Audience Measurement (TAM) project, a project initiated by NMC, Abu Dhabi Media Company, Dubai Media Incorporated, Sharjah Media Corporation and Etisalat will involve the placement and use of the device ‘PeopleMeter’ in a selected number of residences across the UAE in order to collect statistics and information regarding audience viewing preferences. The objective of this project is to develop a deep and detailed understanding of UAE TV viewership to ensure that the commissioning and development of television programming and television advertising in the UAE are strategic in their design and execution.

Emirates Business has reported that Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) is planning to close the print edition of its Emirates Business 24|7 English newspaper in mid-July, according to a statement issued by his Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
An electronic version of the newspaper will be developed to provide comprehensive coverage and information of local and global events in various domains.
