According to emirates24/7, the government of Dubai have launched new efforts to lure the young generation into broadcast media, which is one of the fastest-growing industries in the region.As part of that initiative, the Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) organised lectures for a group of students from the UAE University over a two-day visit. The students' tour came as part of the DMI's efforts to position the broadcast media as a suitable career choice.
The idea is to create a significant talent pool of fresh graduates as part of its strategy and commitment to create a new Emirati media generation able to project the image of Dubai and the UAE. The aspiring media students, while touring the DMI studios, gained first-hand experience on the production process of programmes.
The creative skills needed for presenters and other components of the industry were also highlighted to the students through a series of presentations.Each presentation was followed by an interactive session that saw DMI officials responding to queries on diverse areas such as the process of measuring viewers ratings, the hiring criteria and programme scheduling.

The Dubai Press Club today announced Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), Arab Media Group (AMG), Nakheel, Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and Emirates airline are the key sponsors for the 9th Arab Media Forum.

Dubai TV, one of Dubai Media Incorporated channels, announced its relaunch with new make-over, new look, and new line up of programs, that will go on air for the first time on March 7, 2010.


Burj Dubai, the world's tallest building, will open today (January 4, 2010) in a carefully orchestrated ceremony before a crowd of thousands. Developed by Emaar Properties, Burj Dubai is the focal point of the 500-acre master planned community Downtown Burj Dubai.

Khaleej Times reports that during the holy month of Ramadan, the best featured TV drama will receive an award of $1million (Dh3.67 million) to honour the work of the artists and producers contributing to enriching the cultural output of the Arab world.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the award for the best production to be shown on Dubai TV and Sama Dubai channels of Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI).
