Etihad Airways signs 10 year deal with Panasonic for in-flight media system

Panasonic Avionics Corporation has signed on with Etihad Airways to provide its in-flight entertainment system. The system, which includes broadband internet and live TV, will be made available on the airline's long-haul flights.

James Hogan, Etihad Airways’ Chief Executive Officer, said “it is essential that we offer the most engaging and dynamic in-flight entertainment for our guests – especially on longhaul flights. We went through a comprehensive technical and commercial evaluation of what was out there in the market. Panasonic will support Etihad Airways’commitment to delivering a system that will enable us to stay at the leading edge in this all-important area”. 

 
The deal, which is currently being finalised, is said to be valued at more than US$1 billion.

Etihad Airways launches nationwide advertising campaign to increase customer base in Australia

A nationwide advertising campaign was launched by Etihad Airways in Australia, in order to grow its market share and lure in customers from home-based airlines such as Qantas. The campaign appeals to Australians in a call to "change to the best" and showcases the airline's "superior product and service offering".
 
The campaign is part of Etihad's ambition to become the airline of choice for overseas travel from Australia, the carrier said in a statement. It follows a tie-up with the country's number two airline Virgin Blue which was given the green light by Australia's competition watchdog in February.
 
 

Etihad Airways to sponsor Manchester City FC

Etihad Airways, the Abu Dhabi-based national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has signed a three-year deal to be the official shirt sponsor and partner of Premier League side, Manchester City FC. The Etihad Airways brand logo will appear on Manchester City shirts from the summer.

The partnership is initially for three years and was announced today at the City of Manchester Stadium by Etihad Airways’ Chief Executive, James Hogan, Manchester City FC Chief Executive Garry Cook and Sir Howard Bernstein, Chief Executive of Manchester City Council.
