National Geographic Abu Dhabi is set to launch Photomentaries 2012 on February 1st, a one month-long festival that celebrates photography in the region. Photomentaries comprises of a TV series featuring the world’s most amazing photography assignments undertaken by National Geographic photographers, as well as a photography competition with the theme ‘Capture Life in Motion.

'The New York Times' for iPad edition has been named the top grossing title on iTunes Newsstand. "We're delighted with the success we are seeing on Apple's Newsstand," said Eileen Murphy, vice president of corporate communications at the New York Times. 'The Daily' came in second, while 'The New Yorker', 'Men’s Health' and 'National Geographic' followed.
Itunes Newsstand is a hub for mobile magazine and newspaper subscriptions that Apple launched in October as part of the iOS 5 release. The popularity of the digital newsstand points to the increasing consumption of content on tablet devices.

The National’s Mixed Media has reported that Imagenation Abu Dhabi, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Media City, has partnered with Fox Star Studios, a joint venture between Star TV and News Corp, for the distribution of the movie titled “My Name is Khan”. ADMC’s partnership with News Corp marks a second deal in less than a year.
The first partnership deal was the launch of the National Geographic Abu Dhabi channel, a partnership between ADMC's television arm and National Geographic Channels International, a joint venture between the National Geographic Society and News Corp.
