&lt;p&gt;The 6th edition of the Media and Marketing Show 2010 (MMS), the region&#039;s premier event for the media and marketing industry, came to end yesterday. Organized at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 13th - 15th December 2010, the three day event attracted prominent figures from the communication industry including television, radio, and publishing companies, as well as from advertising, public relations and marketing firms.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Organized by the Domus Group, the show attracted over 5500 attendees during the course of its three days.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;An increase in confirmed exhibitors for this year&#039;s show has been recorded, with over 90 exhibitors surpassing last year&#039;s attendance by over 30%. Media partners from across the region including industry giants such as Al Arabiya News Channel, Dubai Media City, Dubai Press Club, Al Ahram Newspaper, Al Jazirah Newspaper, Al Riyadh Newspaper, Kuwait News Agency, Al Aan TV, Ipsos Mena, O3 Productions, Creative Media Solutions, and Orient TV were joined by leading players from Europe including Deutsche Welle, Russia Today and TRT (Turkish Radio &amp;amp; Television) at what became a high profile platform for leading media professionals.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Maysoon Abulhoul, Managing Director, Domus Group, said, &amp;quot;At the end of yet another successful edition of the MMS, it brings me great pleasure to announce that this year&#039;s event, our sixth in total, has been an enormous triumph. We would like to send our gratitude to all our honored partners for their continued support. The media industry has been through a tough period but there remains a wealth of talent and ideas within the industry.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The 2010 edition hosted discussion groups and presentations. During the course of the opening day, Al Ahram, the leading Egyptian newspaper organized a seminar, with the second day hosting conferences and workshops from Al Arabiya News Channel, Rusiya Al-Yaum and Orient-ESJ.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Nasser Al Sarami, head of media at Al Arabiya news channel, commented, &amp;quot;We are pleased to have hosted the &amp;quot;Al Arabiya Telecom Panel&amp;quot; in its second consecutive year, which focused on the future and challenges of the media and telecommunications industry. Al Sarami further added &amp;quot;We were also impressed by the strong attendance of the panel this year and will continue to put forward more forums and opportunities of engagement.&amp;quot;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Dubai Press Club sponsored the Media &amp;amp; Marketing show&#039;s press center during the three-day event. Commenting on this sponsorship, Maryam Bin Fahad, Executive Director of Dubai Press Club said: &amp;quot;The partnership between the MMS and Dubai Press Club completes a series of mutual efforts to support local and international media activities, and has been focused on expanding its network with media organizations through closer relationships between MMS and the participating journalists.&amp;quot;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;TRT (Turkish Radio &amp;amp; Television) who were present for the first time in the Media &amp;amp; Marketing Show also showcased a range of family orientated productions in Arabic, targeting the Arabic family.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Following the successful conclusion of the 6th Media and Marketing Show, Domus Group will soon announce the details of the 2011 edition of the show.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The 6th edition of the Media and Marketing Show (MMS), the region&#039;s premier event for the media and marketing industry, opened its doors to the public and media professionals today. The three-day event, organized by the Domus Group, is being held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 13th - 15th December 2010 at the Sheikh Saeed Halls, from 10.00 - 19.00 daily.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Every sector of the communications industry has a strong presence at this year&#039;s event - TV stations, website portals, advertising and media services companies, satellite communication, production companies, publishing houses and many more.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A record increase in confirmed exhibitors for this year&#039;s Media and Marketing Show has been confirmed, with over 90 exhibitors surpassing last year&#039;s attendance by over 30%.  <title>Media and Marketing Show 2010 researches creativity drivers in Middle East agencies </title>

With just over six weeks to go until the Media and Marketing Show, the Domus Group recently concluded a series of interviews with leading figures in the Middle East marketing community and key confirmed exhibitors for the show while also conducting a sample quantitative survey across the Middle East digital landscape.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The research was designed to take a temperature test on attitudes towards social media in the agency workplace and the changes to media consumption in the workplace and how agencies are looking to develop and adapt to the new technologies for their creative work ahead of the industry gathering on December 15th&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The level of media consumption in those surveyed varied but nearly a third of respondents confirmed to regularly reading upwards of three newspapers per day, with over 50% still reading at least two weekend newspapers. On the online thread, 13% showed their reliance on online news forums needing news fixes from over 10 news sites per working day. With social media on the upturn across the region, facebook unsurprisingly continued to dominate the landscape but the 140 character networking site Twitter was gaining traction in agency heartlands with 48% using it regularly each day as a source of news and creative ideas.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;quot;From our collaboration with exhibitors in recent months, we&#039;ve been keen to gain a greater understanding of the issues driving marcomms companies throughout the region. The show is going to be a great opportunity for these disparate groups to come together and discuss their feelings on social networking, agency culture, buying trends, broadcasting developments and more.&amp;quot; Said Maysoon A. &amp;quot;Earlier this year, Panda cheese became one of the biggest viral marketing successes of the year with a creative advert that quickly gained traction through social networking sites in the region, leading to massive global interest,&amp;quot; she continued. &amp;quot;As the need to create content that not only has the power to appeal to global audiences but can also match increasingly constrained budgets, agency teams appear to be looking to social networks to stir their inspiration. Similarly, agencies, particularly Public Relations professionals are under increasing pressure to not only stay abreast of the news cycle but also be one, if not two steps ahead of the next big trend.&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
However, from the agency bosses&#039; perspective, attitudes to social media in the workplace continue to be divided. A series of one to one interviews with confirmed exhibitors at the MMS and senior industry agency personnel showed that formal social media policies are still in their infancy with only a small proportion having formal procedures in place. Alex Malouf, Communications Manager, Arabian Peninsula, ABB said, &amp;quot;We are a B2B company, and it is important to know when to use social media. For me personally in this part of the world, I know, in Saudi, that certain decision makers will not use these media channels. Their children will though.&amp;quot; He added, &amp;quot;The main challenges I face are resources. Social media work does consume a lot of time. However, the rewards are increased interaction and the creation of a dialogue with customers so for this reason, I strongly encourage my teams to use the platforms but also to use them wisely.&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Over the last 12 months, many agencies have recognized the need to change and adapt their policies to suit the changing landscape. Jan Diggs, Arabia Inform commented, &amp;quot;12 months ago, we didn&#039;t participate in social media at all but now increasingly, we&#039;re seeing the benefits of &#039;live tweeting&#039; our thoughts at conferences we attend. The real time nature of it can help direct our thinking in a faster, more dynamic way and information flow really can&#039;t be limited by the 9-5 working day anymore&amp;quot;.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
While agencies and exhibitors recognized the need to harness the power of social media and its role in developing creative content, certain limitations are needed. Greg Moore, Partner and Founder of FSM, commented, &amp;quot;I believe there is still a learning gap with some employees in spotting the difference between personal social media and social media in the workplace. &lt;p&gt;A survey of the advertising spend in media across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Pan-Arab countries by IPSOS, one of the region&#039;s leading media research agencies, reports that television advertising will grow by 78% in 2010, followed by print advertising (newspapers and magazines) that is projected to grow by 22%.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Taking on from these optimistic growth figures, the Domus Group, organizers of the Media and Marketing Show (MMS) 2010, announced its partnership with O3 Productions, a subsidiary of the MBC Group and Orient-ESJ, the Arab satellite TV group and Ecole Superieure De Journalisme De Paris, the world&#039;s oldest school of journalism. IPSOS will also elaborate on findings of the survey conducted on advertising spends within the media industry.&lt;/p&gt;

O3 Productions, a subsidiary of the MBC group, will bring to the event its expertise in video production and content creation for broadcast media and make.&lt;br /&gt;

Other prominent exhibitors from the broadcast industry include Al Aan TV, Orient TV, Al Aquaria TV, Decision Makers, Fujairah Media, and Busy Bee Studios&lt;br /&gt;

    &lt;li&gt;One of the region&#039;s leading media research agencies Ipsos MENA, will provide guidance on how companies can gain valuable consumer insight and save on marketing costs through more effective advertising spreads and better use of various media channels.&lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;A series of internal conferences organised by the Domus Group will be held over the three days of the show, featuring key speakers from the show&#039;s exhibitors: AY Marketing &amp;amp; AEC Partners, and UK media company IMS.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Aside from broadcast, representatives from Maktoob.com Ayna Corporation, RAK Media City will also be exhibiting at the three day show.&lt;br /&gt;
