Grand Cinemas to launch 10 screen multiplex at Deerfields Town Square

Deerfields Town Square, the AED700-million destination mall taking shape at the Al Bahiya district of Abu Dhabi, today announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Gulf Film LLC, the largest film distributor in the Middle East, to operate Grand Cinemas at its premises.

Covering a total area of 6,745 square meters, the state-of-art complex will include nine screens and one VIP screen. The entire facility that will accommodate 1,556 seats and offer premium entertainment options for families is set to open in October 2012.

The partnership with Gulf Film is in line with Deerfields Town Square's goal to offer a healthy mix of mid-tier retail and entertainment offerings and a one-stop for a wide spectrum of casual dining cuisines. In line with the concept of Deerfields offering a mall for the community, entertainment is a key pillar and Grand Cinemas are a key component of this.

In addition to the Grand Cinemas and the Carrefour supermarket, Deerfields Town Square is currently finalizing several mid-sized, value-oriented family retail stores. Public sector services, medical facilities and essential amenities will additionally populate the mall with the process of shortlisting and registering interest already in progress.

The Deerfields Town Square mall, which will cater to a 15-km catchment area consisting of communities such as Al Bahia, Al Rahba, Al Shahama, Al Raha Gardens, the Raha Beach, Khalifa Cities and Al Reef, will offer unique facilities and rate high on accessibility, variety and convenience.

du inaugurates three new outlets in UAE Capital Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Municipality, Abu Dhabi Mall and Carrefour

du, the UAE's integrated telecom service provider, recently opened three new outlets in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, providing customers easier access to du's portfolio of products and services. While new du shops have been opened at Abu Dhabi Mall and Airport Road Carrefour in Abu Dhabi, an existing service facility was expanded to create a du kiosk at the Abu Dhabi Municipality.

The new du kiosk in the Abu Dhabi Municipality is conveniently located in the customer service area, and its opening was inaugurated by Hamad Salem Lekhrebani Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of Commercial Affairs Sector, Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (DEP), Maher Murad, VP Sales, du and Ahmed Abu Rahima, VP Government Relations, du.

Each of the new du outlets will sell du Pay as you Go® SIM cards, Elite Plan Monthly Plan lines, WoW recharge cards, du Call Select (fixed line service), and will offer bill payment services for both individual and business customers. In addition, the du shop located in Abu Dhabi Mall will offer a wide range of mobile handsets for sale.
